Pat Brazzier is an emerging author exploring grassroots football in Hertfordshire and Essex, sharing stories and insights from local communities and players.

Born in 1952, my earliest memory of football was being shown the daily newspaper by my father on February 7th 1958, the Munich Disaster and I have been a Manchester United fan ever since.

As a young boy who grew up in Bishop's Stortford, I played football whenever I could.

I played for my primary school team in Bishop's Stortford and also the Bishop's Stortford and District Primary Schools team.

In 1967 at the age of 15 I attended a 'trial' for Heath Rovers and signed for the club and played for around 5 years. From then on until approximately 1985 I played in a number of teams in the Stortford, Stansted and District League, the Hertford and District League and the Harlow and District League.

Those years of playing and still with a strong passion for football led to the creation of my first book after a chance meeting with Ted Nately and finding out the BSS&DFL had been disbanded.
